Do you have an adoption-related question? Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions:

When does Save a Life Pet Rescue host adoption events?
Adoption events take place every Saturday and Sunday at the 

PetSmart in Oviedo
1115 Vidina Place
Oviedo FL 32765
Saturday from 1pm-4pm
Sunday from 1pm-3:30pm

Are pets available to visit outside of adoption events?
No, because Save a Life Pet Rescue does not have a specific shelter where potential adopters can come and visit our rescued animals.

Are adoption fees tax deductible?
Yes, along with any other donations you make to Save a Life Pet Rescue.

Do you allow individuals to put a hold on an animal or take deposits on an animal prior to adoption?
No. Save a Life Pet Rescue adopts animals on a first-come, first-served basis, granted that the adopter meets all adoption guidelines. Note that Save a Life Pet Rescue posts an adopter sign-up sheet on the door of the Petsmart in Oviedo at 7:00am on adoption day. Including your name on the sheet will secure your name in line at the adoption event, though it will not guarantee your adoption of a certain pet. 

Does Save a Life Pet Rescue cover the costs of office visits to private or personal veterinary clinics for newly adopted pets?
Save a life does not cover personal or private vet clinics. Within the first week of adoption, if a pet is taken into one of the recommended clinics listed below and a health issues arises, Save A Life will cover the cost in full. 

With each pet adoption, Save a Life Pet Rescue provides a coupon for one free veterinary exam and  fecal at the following clinics:

How can I help Save a Life Pet Rescue beyond adopting an animal?
In addition to the support of adopters, Save a Life Pet Rescue is always in need of financial, volunteer, and foster assistance. Without the adopters, volunteers, fosters, and the community, Save a Life Pet Rescue could not accomplish its mission of saving and enriching the lives of dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes, and conditions that have suffered from neglect, cruelty, abandonment, or overpopulation in high-kill animal shelters.

If we no longer want an animal that we adopted from Save a Life Pet Rescue, what should we do?
In the event that an adopter no longer wants their pet, they must, by contract, surrender the animal to Save a Life Pet Rescue.

Is Save a Life Pet Rescue affiliated with Petsmart?
No. Save a Life Pet Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
